2019 is the 40th anniversary of Ian forming SOLDIER back in 1979. This important milestone comes with some "good" and some "bad" news.
The "good" news is that there will be new SOLDIER music. The first thing to be released is the three track Storm Rider E.P. which will be released on Monday 12th August. Initially a “physical only” release, the CD will be available from www.soldiernwobhm.com .
The three brand new tracks are:
Little Big Horn
What you get here are all the trademark SOLDIER elements, riffs, melody and songs that stick in your head.
Ian and Richard are also working on a new project called RED SILO, and hopefully there should be an album out towards the end of 2019/early 2020.
The "bad" news is that SOLDIER will no longer be playing live. Since re-grouping in 2012 to play the British Steel Festival and Hard Rock Hell, the band have released two albums of new material (Dogs Of War and Defiant) and two historical releases (Live @ The Heathery and Chronicles), and they've played all over the UK and Europe.
The band would like to thank all the promoters who booked them and everyone who came out to watch. The band had a great time and hope you all did too!
You will be able to see several members of SOLDIER playing live throughout the year with other bands and we will keep you updated with that through the Facebook page and on the website.
So whilst things are going to be "different" moving forward there will still be plenty of SOLDIER and SOLDIER related stuff to look out for!
